07 Dry Hire Wedding October
Sumita & Craig
A Dry Hire Wedding
Sumita and Craig’s two-day wedding was a breathtaking celebration, blending their civil and Indian weddings. The grandeur of Hedsor House, with its flexibility and space, allowed them to honour every cultural aspect.
On the first day they had an intimate but elegant civil ceremony in The Center Hall to allow their family to enjoy the opulent surroundings. In comparison, their Indian wedding took full advantage of the whole house, starting with Craig’s grand entrance up the driveway. Followed by their traditional Indian ceremony in the Ballroom, which was completely transformed from an intimate dinner setting the day before to the most beautiful set-up for a mandap. They both said:
“We will never forget how stunning the mandap looked when we first saw it, with the chandelier coming through the centre. It created the most beautiful atmosphere; we remember sitting underneath, with the sun’s rays coming through the window; it was just breathtaking.”
Their couple said the biggest challenge was creating the right balance for a fusion wedding, which took a lot of back-and-forth and compromise. But, in the end, both families felt valued and respected, creating a harmonious and memorable event.
A real highlight for the couple was their ‘Royal Moment’, when they both stood on their balcony post-ceremony with a glass of bubbly, looking out over the grounds and seeing all the family waving up at them.
